Archangel Gabriel holds a scroll as a reminder to keep gratitude alive. The style is inspired by the study of early Byzantine icons, Coptic Orthodox and Ethiopian art, as well as similar expressive facial styles dating back to Sumerian and Babylonian art.
Oil pastel on masonite is archival sealed and comes with a frame and the artist's signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Biography: Michelle Bien (born 1985, Lansing, Michigan, United States) is a multidisciplinary artist and designer currently living and working in West Bloomfield, Michigan. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts with High Honors from the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan in 2007, she established her professional foundation through preliminary work in the arts, nonprofits, administration, gallery management, sales, marketing, web design, and research.
